Sewing at home and using these wonderful sewing patterns are just simply the perfect fit! For anyone that has ever sewn, it is almost certain that at some time, they have used these patterns for sewing dresses. They are very trendy and easy to use. Whether you are a novice or an expert at sewing, Vogue has the right pattern for you.

I started sewing when I was a child and made doll cloths which of course was done using Vogue patterns. As high school entered the picture, the art of sewing continued and most of the girls were into making almost all of their own cloths.

As skills advanced, some people I know even make their own coats! Today, this trend continues as people enjoy creating their own clothes with these very up-to-date patterns.

It doesn't matter if you are a “by the numbers” kind of person or artistic and creative, vogue patterns will work for you. With such a wide variety of patterns to choose from, you will soon see that you can find patterns that are as simple or as complex as will suit your skills. Once you have sewn a few items, try moving on to more challenging patterns and expand your skill set.

Vogue sewing patterns

Vogue patterns began in the late 1890's and were introduced into Vogue magazine as a weekly article. As all businesses, Vogue patterns have evolved and expanded over time.

They now offer patterns for all ages of life from infants, toddlers, children, teens, and also for men or women. If sewing is something that you want to try or are adept at, vogue should be a pattern source that you should be looking at.

Patterns are readily available online or widespread across both the United States and Canada. Check out fabric stores, sewing clubs or even online.

Have you ever noticed that fashion repeats itself? Give the fashion industry enough time and you will find that the “bell bottoms” of the 70's came back a couple decades later as “low risers” and so on. If vintage is what you are after then you will be happy to know that you can still buy many vintage patterns.

Present and past patterns are great

Get creative also as sewing is very personal to your taste and talent. You not only have the ability to do sewing at home at your leisure, but you can add to the design your own taste because of the materials and prints you choose for your creation. Add extra trim or lace or bit buttons or... well, you get the picture. From chic to casual or the classics, you can find it all.

Sewing is simply fun and Vogue patterns help me to create masterpieces for my children. If you are a novice then look for sewing classes and learn about materials and bias and all of the terms. Pick a simple pattern to start and enjoy the process.

This is a lifelong skill and like anything, the more you practice the better and more skillful you will be. Pattern designs keep up with the times and with your own creative touches, you will be the envy of friends as you wear your very own creations.

Talk about pride of accomplishment. There is just something special about sewing at home and having tangible results that will last for years.
